a monotone environment made for the purpose of studying linear perspective in a university class. while it wasn't required to utilize three point perspective, i wanted to challenge myself and see exactly how much of linear perspective i understood in this drawing. additionally, none of the items in this image are real--all of them are made up, although it was required to make a three-dimensional mockup for reference, so i did have some frame of reference. made in krita, spring 2023.

an ink painting made for a class to study value. ink is definitely not my favourite medium. ink on paper, winter 2022/spring 2023.

a character concept based on a dark version of rapunzel made for a university class. i wanted to go with a sci-fi theme to really twist up the original idea of rapunzel. my biggest challenge with this piece was probably the shoes--i couldn't come up with a design i like--as well as the cracks in the exterior. made in krita, fall 2022.

a photo for a digital photography course taken at university. I wanted to attempt a more cinematic color grade for this image, something more romantic and vintage feeling. shot on a nikon d90, edited in adobe lightroom. spring 2024.

character design done for one of my university classes. the prompt was to take any object and make a character based on it, as well as a companion. I chose my headphones and went with a cyberpunk theme for the main character, and the ball & chain companion was based on a hershey's kiss. made in adobe illustrator, winter 2022.

as an assignment for an intermediate level digital illustration class, us students were challenged to create a duotone image, the theme being ‘suspense.’ I chose to encapsulate a moment before destruction; the final breath before an oncoming storm. winter 2023.

a piece for a graphic design course. the prompt was to take a typeface and create an image only using the letters of the typeface with no distortion, while also communicating a prompted word. the word for this work was 'congestion.' made in adobe illustrator. spring 2024.

this self portrait was made for a university class. the prompt was extreme expression, and i chose insanity because i was going a little insane at university. this was my first time using pastels, and truthfully, it's not one i'll probably use on a project this big again. pastel on paper, edited digitally. 3' x 4', spring 2023.

this was a personal synesthetic work I made one night when I was unable to fall asleep due to stress. it is based on a song from a video game soundtrack. made in procreate, spring 2024.

a character concept sheet for a professional level university course. yes, this is my own original character. made in krita. winter 2023.

this was a university piece made to study linear and atmospheric perspective. once again, i wanted to go for something a little darker, but not necessarily something that would make people turn away quickly because of its gloominess. made in krita, spring 2023.

sci-fi/fantasy is one of my favorite genres, and it shows in much of my illustrative work. this piece was made for a university assignment, and I wanted to incorporate this love for science fiction into this assignment. made in krita and adobe photoshop. winter 2023.
